The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a written order for the hearing to be held today on the appeals of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Tosha Khana case.
In the order, the Supreme Court said that the High Court should decide on other appeals including the suspension of the PTI chairman’s sentence. It is appropriate to respect the High Court and wait for its decision.
It also said that all the parties should appear in court tomorrow at 2 o’clock in the Tosha Khana case.
The order said that the jurisdiction of the trial court, the admissibility of the Toshah Khana reference are for consideration.
The Supreme Court in its order said that it is important for the court to consider the important legal points in the Tosha Khana case. According to the lawyer Chairman PTI, the trial court gave a unilateral decision without hearing them.
The written order said that PTI chairman has been in jail since August 5. According to PTI chairman’s counsel, he was not even allowed to produce witnesses in his defense.
It also said that the counsel for the Election Commission confirmed the claim of the petitioner’s counsel on the question of the court.
The Supreme Court said that the application for suspension of sentence is pending in the High Court which will be heard tomorrow. Chairman PTI’s lawyer raised serious points in the court which need to be examined.
