Peshawar: The caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the restoration of the health card program.
Caretaker Adviser to Chief Minister Dr. Riyaz Anwar held discussions with the insurance company on the instructions of the Chief Minister which ended with successful negotiations.
After the success of the negotiations, he announced the restoration of the health card program, saying that the arrears would be paid to the insurance company in a week.
Dr. Riaz Anwar said that the insurance company has more than 33 billion in arrears, which is being re-started on the assurance of payment, providing free treatment to the people of the province is our first priority.
He said that the treatment on the health card was not terminated but was temporarily suspended due to non-payment, which has now been restored.
The Caretaker Adviser said that the insurance company is working out a plan for payment of arrears, there is scope for further improvement of treatment procedures on the health card, efforts are being made to streamline the program further.
After the successful negotiations, the insurance company also issued a declaration to restore the health card service.
