Former Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Kunwar Dilshad revealed that the President is preparing to give the date of the elections.
In a telephonic conversation with Geo News, Kanwar Dilshad said that according to my information, President Dr. Arif Alvi is preparing to give the date of elections.
He said that the President is going to give the date under Sub-Section 5 of Article 48 of the Constitution.
Former Secretary ECP further said that if President Arif Alvi gave the date of elections, the Election Commission is not bound to accept it.
He said that Article 57 of the Election Act has been amended, so it would be wrong to give the date of the President.
