Damascus: In an operation in Syria, the Russian Air Force fired missiles at the positions of the extremist organization “Al-Tahrir al-Sham”, as a result of which 13 fighters were killed.
According to the World News Agency, in Syria, the Russian Air Force attacked the military headquarters of the militant organization Haya Tahrir al-Sham, which established its government by capturing the large areas of Latakia, Hama and Aleppo in Idlib.
Allegedly, the Russian army, with the help of the Syrian army, carried out this operation to take control of the areas under the control of Haya Tahrir al-Sham.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a human rights group active in Syria, confirmed the death of 13 fighters of Tahrir in the Russian attack. Earlier the number was said to be 8.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has expressed concern that dozens of fighters of Tahrir were injured in the Russian attack. After the Russian attack, Tahrir fighters gathered in large numbers and vowed to take revenge.
Haya Tahrir al-Sham claims its affiliation with Daesh, an organization formerly known as the Nusra Front.
It should be remembered that a ceasefire has been in effect since March 6, 2020, under a joint agreement between the Syrian government, Russia and Turkey in Idlib and its surrounding areas.
