Karachi: Investigation of billions of rupees corruption in Hyderabad and Sukkur Motorway scandal has been transferred from Karachi and Sukkur FIA, Anti-Corruption to NAB Karachi.
NAB Karachi has also decided to register anti-money laundering cases against the accused while collecting Rs 86 crores and confiscating properties worth Rs 1.20 crores from Matiari district.
District Matiari and Nowshehru Feroze administrations received more than 7 billion for the purchase of land for the highway from the National Highway Authority. The total value of food from Matiari and Nowshera Feroze districts is more than 5 billion rupees.
The money withdrawn from Matiari district was 2 billion 37 crores while the value of stolen money was 1 billion 81 crores. 3 billion 40 crores were withdrawn from Nowshehro Feroze district while 2 billion 85 crore rupees were stolen.
The value of cash and seized properties in the case is 2 billion 30 crore rupees. In the case, investigation is going on against 20 accused including 2 deputy commissioners, one assistant commissioner.
