The Official Secret Act Court of Islamabad granted bail to former federal minister Asad Umar till August 29 in the cipher case.
Asad Umar had filed an anti-arrest bail application in the Official Secret Act court in Islamabad in the cipher case.
It was argued in the petition that the cipher case against Asad Umar was made on political grounds, the cipher case was made to harass and blackmail him.
The petition said that the cipher case against Asad Umar is baseless, the provisions in the case are wrong.
In the application, it was requested that Asad Umar is ready to be investigated, the bail application should be granted.
On the other hand, the Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad has extended the bail of Asad Umar till October 12 in the case filed in Sangjani police station.
Asad Umar appeared in the ATC court along with his lawyer Babar Awan.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat extended the bail of Asad Umar in the case registered at Sangjani police station.
