Rawalpindi: In connection with the May 9 incidents, the main accused named in the case of attack on the gate of the office of a sensitive institution was arrested.
According to police sources, the former chairman of Union Council 18, Sajjad Haider, has been arrested and transferred to New Town police station for investigation. The accused was absconding since the attack on the office gate of a sensitive institution in Shamsabad on May 9.
A case of attack on the office gate of a sensitive institution has been registered under the Terrorism Act at the Newtown police station. Former provincial minister Raja Rashid Hafeez is still absconding in the case, while the number of accused arrested in the case has reached 78.
Former minister Shehryar Khan Afridi and former woman MPA have been discharged from this case.
