London: Dieters avoid bread because it is high in carbohydrates, but scientists have claimed to have developed a bread that can make people feel full and lose weight.
Scientists created a flour from chickpeas that people were more satisfied with when eaten in the form of bread than regular bread.
Scientists believe that dieters can limit overeating by replacing wheat flour with gram flour, which will definitely reduce obesity.
However, experts warn that just switching to flour is not enough, being active and eating a healthy diet is essential for better health.
Researchers at the Quadrum Institute, a Norwich-based research center, and King’s College London, made bread from whole wheat flour instead of wheat flour.
This research is the first of its kind to examine this new ingredient. Conventionally milled chickpea, lentil and legume flours break the mold of essential health fiber. But the gram flour used in this study was milled in a new way that preserved its fiber structure.
According to scientists, this procedure ensures the provision of additional health foods containing flour.
In the study, scientists fed three types of bread rolls to 20 people between the ages of 18 and 45. One bread roll was made with white wheat flour, while the second and third type had gram flour content of 30 and 60 percent, respectively.
A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that those who ate special gram flour bread had significantly higher blood levels of satiety hormones.
According to scientists, these hormones send signals from the stomach to the brain that make people feel full, which means that participants in the study who ate bread made from gram flour felt less hungry.
