Maryam Aurangzeb said during a conversation in Geo News program Naya Pakistan that representatives of all media organizations are included in the Joint Action Committee, there are evidences and minutes of our meetings.
He said that I presented all these proofs in my press conference, ITNE has a platform for newspaper employees.
The Federal Minister of Information also said that if the newspaper employees do not get their salaries, they can also recover from ITNE, we have given the salaries to the employees that have been withheld for many months.
He said that there was no forum for electronic media, people did not have money for household expenses and medicine.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that the consultation was started from April 2022, I did not take any decision without consulting the Joint Action Committee.
He said that the decision to close the channel used to be made by Chairman Pemra, we have given this authority to the Council of Complaints, Chairman Pemra cannot take any action on the content.
The federal minister said that the decision of the Council of Complaints will go to the authority, the third tier can go to the court, even if the authority decides with a quorum, it cannot shut down the channel.
