The next monsoon spell across the country will continue from July 31 to August 6.
The NDMA has expressed fears of landslides including flash and urban flooding in this monsoon spell.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Acting Chairman NDMA.
Officials of Meteorological Department, Federal Flood Commission, PDMAs and other departments also participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the officials gave a briefing on the situation arising from the recent rains, rescue and relief operations, repair and maintenance of roads and bridges due to flash flooding and the situation of dams and rivers.
It was informed in the briefing that Tarbela and Mangala dams have filled more than 70% of their capacity.
It was also informed in the meeting that the Indian Dams Pong and Thane have also been completely filled due to which India can once again release water into the Ravi River.
The briefing said that heavy rains are likely to increase the flow of water in rivers and inundate low-lying areas.
NDMA directed the concerned institutions to speed up the maintenance of communication system and ensure the availability of machinery.
NDMA also directed to continue the public awareness campaign to prevent possible effects of monsoon.
The NDMA also directed the concerned agencies to continue monitoring the release of water in rivers and Indian dams.
