The US and Pakistan share common interests in many areas, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State said

Washington: The United States has called the announcement of elections by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after the completion of the term of the government as encouraging and said that they hope to hold a peaceful and fair election.

According to the international news organization, these views were expressed by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Elizabeth Hurst of the United States and also expressed commitment to a sustainable partnership with Pakistan.

In his statement, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States described the unexpected rains and floods as major challenges for Pakistan due to economy and climate change. The US also gave 215 million dollars in aid to the flood victims of Pakistan.

Elizabeth Hirst further said that the largest buyer of Pakistani products is the United States, which is evidenced by the fact that last year there was a trade of 9 billion dollars, while foreign direct investment by the United States was 250 million dollars.

The Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister said that America and Pakistan have common interests in many matters. Will provide all possible assistance to Pakistan to deal with the challenges.

Welcoming the announcement of elections by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after the end of the government term, Elizabeth Hearst said that America is the biggest supporter of democracy in the world.
