Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that Senator Ishaq Dar can become caretaker prime minister if all allies agree.
Ahsan Iqbal said during a conversation in Geo News program Naya Pakistan that it is hoped that the name of caretaker prime minister will be agreed upon in the last week of the current government.
He said that whatever the decision regarding caretaker prime minister is, it will be done by taking the cabinet and allies into confidence.
The federal minister further said that the basic condition for caretaker prime minister is that everyone agrees on it, it would be premature to say anything in this regard.
He said that whoever will be the caretaker prime minister will be by consensus, if all the parties agree on the name of Senator Ishaq Dar, then he will be the caretaker prime minister.
Ahsan Iqbal said that who is in, who is out, it will be premature to say anything, there was no discussion in the party about caretaker prime minister.
He said that no decision has been taken on the caretaker prime minister in front of me, the caretaker setup will be agreed upon in the last week of the government.
The federal minister said that the 9-month IMF program has to be implemented in a caretaker setup, and a 3-year program agreement will have to be signed with the IMF.
He said that we need a stable government which has a mandate of 5 years, everyone knows that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified under a conspiracy.
Ahsan Iqbal said that chairman PTI took bribe on the money from Britain, no one can say anything to him, it is a tragedy that people do not have faith in the judicial system in Pakistan.
He said that my personal opinion is that we should go through the election in the shortest possible time, we need to hold elections soon and have a stable government so that the country can be brought out of economic difficulties by bringing reforms.
