After the rain yesterday, the highway is still closed at Panjara bridge due to flooding in the Bolan river of Balochistan province.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan, traffic has been suspended due to the closure of the Quetta-Sabi highway at Panjara bridge.
PDMA Balochistan has informed that the national highway has been closed for traffic at Abgum in Bolan and Dhadar.
PDMA Balochistan also says that efforts are being made to restore the highway at Panjara Bridge.
Travel advisory issued for Sabi to Jacobabad highway
Apart from this, a travel advisory has also been issued by the National Highway for the N65 Sibi Jacobabad highway.
According to NHA officials, there is a high-level rail passing in the Bolan river, traffic is suspended on the Panjara bridge causeway due to the rail.
According to GMNHA, traffic has been stopped on the highway between Quetta and Jacobabad from both sides, heavy machinery with crews is present on the Panjara causeway.
Chance of more rains in Balochistan
On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of thundershowers in Quetta, Kalat, Ko Hilu, Zhob, Shirani, Musa Khel, Qila Saifullah, Khuzdar, Sibi, Harnai, Bolan, Barkhan, Loralai, Nasirabad, Dera Bugti, Lasbela, Awaran, Ormara, Godar, Pasni, Torbat, Panjgur and Ketch today.
Due to the heavy rain, there is a risk of flooding in the rivers of Barkhan, Kohlu, Sherani, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai and Khuzdar.
Many highways are affected due to torrential rain
Due to torrential rain in north-eastern and south-central Balochistan, highways have been affected by flood lanes in many districts.
Inter-provincial transport of Balochistan along with Sindh and Punjab has also been affected.
Flood situation in different districts
According to the PDMA, there is a flood situation in the rivers and hilly areas of various districts, to deal with which the administration of the respective districts has been instructed to be on alert.
On the other hand, due to the heavy rain in the northern mountain ranges in Lasbela, the Purali river has flooded.
Several Goths were flooded
Many Goths were affected by flood in Chankara area of Lakhra, Ahmed Bachal Goth and Allah Bachaya Goth were affected by flood and local people were trapped.
Residents of the area say that arrangements should be made to move them to a safe place and avoid loss of life and property.
