Riyadh / Washington: Saudi Arabia severely condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran and summoned the ambassador of Sweden in protest, while the United States also condemned the Swedish government for allowing the burning of the Swedish holy book.
According to the Saudi media, the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that it strongly condemns the extremists’ repeated permission to burn and desecrate the copies of the Quran.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again announced to summon Sweden’s governor of affairs, saying that the protest message will be referred to him, in which the Swedish government will be demanded to take immediate measures to prevent such incidents.
The statement of the Saudi Foreign Ministry further stated that Sweden rejects extremist thinking that hinders the promotion of tolerance and moderation and does not allow such demonstrations in the future.

On the other hand, Matthew Miller, the spokesperson of the US Department of State, also strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran, saying that the holy books and worship have their own importance and rank which we recognize.
In a press briefing in Washington, Matthew Miller called the desecration of the Holy Quran a heinous act and said that America is in favor of freedom of religion or belief for everyone.
