Lahore: As the water level in the Indian dams rose dangerously high, the Pakistani rivers again faced the threat of flooding.
According to Express News, the PDMA and the district administration have been active in dealing with the emergency situation, the dams built on the Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers in India are 67 percent, 75 percent and 89 percent full of water, respectively, due to which there is a risk of flooding in Pakistan.
On the other hand, according to the Meteorological Department, more rains are expected in the coming days, which will further increase the flow of water.
According to PDMA, due to the position of Indian dams and the forecast of more rains, the relevant institutions are on high alert, the district administration is continuously informed about the situation of the rivers, there is also a communication system with the local population, the encroachment of the rivers is being ensured.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Rafia Haider visited the villages around the Ravi River in view of the threat of flooding and issued instructions for safety arrangements.
