Punjab Police has released the data related to the cases of terrorism registered and the arrest of women in the May 9 tragedy.
According to police officials, a total of 1897 men and 22 women are in jail across Punjab.
According to the statistics, 44 cases of terrorism were registered in Punjab on May 9 tragedy, these cases were registered in 5 cities of the province including Lahore.
According to the police, 2 thousand 138 people were arrested from across the province in terrorism cases. In the provincial capital Lahore, 14 cases of terrorism were registered and 645 accused were arrested, including 93 named accused.
Police arrested 173 people in 2 cases from Gujranwala, 438 people in 14 cases from Rawalpindi, 670 people in 9 cases from Sargodha and 212 people in 5 cases from Faisalabad.
According to police officials, 159 people were released after the identification parade in 44 cases.
Data related to arrested women
According to police data, 63 women were arrested from 8 cities including Lahore in 2 months after the May 9 tragedy.
According to police officials, 21 women were detained on suspicion of being involved in the May 9 incidents.
According to the data, maximum 47 women were arrested from Lahore, 22 women were sent to jail after completion of investigation.
According to police officials, 21 women were arrested from Lahore and 1 woman from Rawalpindi was sent to jail.
According to the data, 59 women arrested from 8 cities were released on bail, 31 from Lahore, 11 from Rawalpindi, 8 from Faisalabad and 4 from Multan were released on bail.
