NAB filed a reference in the Accountability Court Hyderabad

In the Hyderabad Sukkur Motorway corruption case, NAB has filed a reference in the Accountability Court Hyderabad.

The reference alleges misappropriation of Rs 5 billion 80 crore in the project of Matiari-Nushhru Feroz section.

In the reference, 19 accused including former Deputy Commissioner Matiari Adnan Rashid, Land Acquisition Officer Mansoor Abbasi and bank officers have been named. The court was told that 12 accused have been arrested in the case, while 5 are absconding and 2 are on bail.

In the reference submitted in the accountability court, it was stated that a total of one billion 80 crore rupees have been recovered on the identification of the accused former DC Matiari, Land Acquisition Officer Ashiq Cleary and Aslam Pirzada.

Accused Ashiq Cleary and Akhlaq Shah have applied for a plea bargain of Rs 1 billion 30 crore 10 lakh.

The court adjourned the hearing till August 7 for further proceedings.
