Peshawar: Justice Ejaz Anwar of Peshawar High Court has remarked that if the government will file anti-corruption cases for political revenge against opponents, then people’s confidence will be lost.
A 2-member bench of Peshawar High Court, comprising Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Ijaz Anwar, heard the petition filed against Tehreek-e-Insaf’s former Member National Assembly Anwar Taj and former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser’s brother Tehsil Mayor Swabi Attullah for the details of the cases.
During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioners told the court that cases have been registered against their clients at various places, but no details are being provided to them, against which they have approached the court.
The public prosecutor told the court that there is one anti-corruption case and 3 police cases against Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Anwar Taj in Charsadda and Mardan, while there is one anti-corruption complaint against Tehsil Mayor Swabi Attaullah.
Justice Ijaz Anwar said that if the government will file anti-corruption cases for political revenge against the opponents, then people’s confidence will rise. The court disposed of the writ petitions after providing the details.
