Authorization to negotiate an agreement with the UAE for KPT operations

Islamabad: The Cabinet Committee on Governmental Transactions has approved negotiations on a framework agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the operations of the Karachi Port Trust and General Cargo Terminal.

According to the details, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Transactions was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. In the meeting, the summary of Ministry of Maritime Affairs on Karachi Port Trust and General Cargo Terminal was considered.

In the meeting, the committee allowed negotiations on the framework agreement. According to the declaration, the Cabinet Committee has also formed a negotiation committee for negotiations.

The negotiation committee will include the Secretary Law, Secretary Naval Affairs, Ministry of Finance and foreign officials. The committee will discuss the draft framework agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
