Karachi: In the financial year 2022-23, the total foreign investment was limited to 420 million dollars by a decrease of 77%, which was 1.85 billion 78 million dollars in the previous financial year.
According to State Bank statistics, during the financial year 2022-23, total foreign private investment decreased by 7.2 percent to one billion 43 billion 77 million dollars, in which foreign direct investment decreased by 24.8 percent to one billion 45 billion 58 million dollars.
The withdrawal of capital from portfolio investment was limited to 1 crore 82 lakh dollars which was 38 crore 75 lakh dollars in the financial year 2021-22.
According to the statistics, the withdrawal of more than one billion dollars from foreign public investment was seen and the total foreign investment decreased by 77% to 42 crore 71 million dollars.
In the month of June 2023, the total foreign investment was 11 crore 12 lakh dollars, in which the value of FDI was 11 crore 43 lakh dollars, while the portfolio investment was negative 32 lakh dollars.
