The moon of Muharram ul Haram was not sighted in Pakistan, the 1st of Muharram ul Haram will be on Thursday, July 20.
A meeting of the central sighting of the crescent moon committee was held in Quetta, which was chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the committee.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz and other officials also participated in this meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner Complex.
Regarding the sighting of the moon, the Meteorological Department said that there are slight chances of seeing the Muharram moon in different areas of Balochistan.
The meteorological department had said that due to the dusty weather in Quetta, the possibility of seeing the Muharram moon is less. However, the moon can be seen for 39 minutes after sunset.
The Department of Meteorology had said that there are chances of partly cloudy weather on the coastal belt of Balochistan, due to the clouds in Quetta, the possibility of moon sighting is quite low.
However, while announcing the sighting of the moon, the Chairman of the Sighting of the Crescent Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, said that the moon of Muharram has not been sighted, and the 1st of Muharram will be on Thursday, July 20.
According to Chairman Rawit Hilal Committee, Ashura Day 10th of Muharram will be on 29th July.
