Islamabad: The government apologized to the Election Commission for providing additional funds for the general elections.
The Federal Ministry of Finance while replying to the letter written by the Election Commission has said that the Election Commission should postpone the demand for additional grant for elections in the national interest.
The Ministry of Finance says that the demand for additional supplementary grant should be postponed until the economic situation of the country improves.
It should be remembered that the Election Commission had asked the federal government for an additional grant of 14 billion rupees for the general elections.
The Election Commission had requested that the expenses of general elections have increased from 47 billion to 61 billion rupees.
