PTI funding case, Election Commission has challenged the decision of Islamabad High Court

Islamabad: The Election Commission has challenged the decision of a single member bench of the Islamabad High Court on the issue of show-cause notice proceedings in the PTI party funding case.

Justice Babar Sattar, a single bench of the Islamabad High Court, issued a decision on PTI’s request on June 6, against which the Election Commission has filed an intra-court appeal.

In the appeal, the Election Commission held that the single bench in its judgment had said that the fact-finding report was not a final decision and it was contrary to settled legal principles and should be quashed.

It should be noted that Justice Babar Sattar had said in the judgment on June 6 that in response to the Election Commission’s show cause notice, PTI is authorized to raise legal points including hearing.
