In the central executive meeting of Jamiat Ulema Islam, concern was expressed over the conflicting statements between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The need to improve the situation between the two countries was emphasized.
In the JUI meeting, it was also decided to campaign for full participation in the elections.
A meeting of JUI’s central committee was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Maulana Fazlur Rahman. The preparations for the upcoming general elections were reviewed in the meeting.
According to the spokesperson of JUI, it was decided that JUI will participate fully in the general elections and the meeting of JUI regarding the preparations for the elections will continue on Monday.
JUI expressed concern over the conflicting statements between Pakistan and Afghanistan and clarified that the two Islamic brotherly countries should take the path of understanding.
The meeting suggested that there should be contact between the two countries at the political and military level to improve the situation.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari said that it is indispensable to continue the relations between the two countries to restore mutual trust and peace and stability in both countries is the need of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He said that both the countries have to move forward to play their role in this regard.
The recommendations of the constitutional committee have also been presented in the meeting.
