The Taliban government issued a currency control order following reports of dollar smuggling in Afghanistan. Under which, bringing foreign exchange into the country without permission will be prohibited.
In the report of the global news organization Bloomberg, it was revealed that 5 million dollars are being smuggled from Pakistan to Afghanistan every day.
The currency order issued by the Taliban states that a maximum of $500 will be allowed to be brought in through land routes.
The penalty for smuggling $100,000 is one year in prison and a $100,000 fine. Similarly, the punishment for smuggling 100,000 dollars will be one month in jail, while for smuggling dollars worth less than that, 10 days in jail will be served.
It should be noted that the Taliban government has also banned the transportation of precious antiquities, precious stones and gold from Afghanistan.
