The release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was not possible even today.
At night, the court staff reached the jail with the body of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, then Parvez Elahi’s lawyer Amir Saeed Ran also reached outside the camp jail along with other lawyers, but Pervez Elahi could not be released from the jail.
Parvez Elahi’s release was possible despite being sent to Robkar Camp Jail, the lawyers of the former Punjab Chief Minister returned empty-handed from the camp jail.
The court official said that their job was only to deliver the release, the release is the job of the jail authorities.
On the other hand, the police recommended the detention of Parvez Elahi under the 3MPO and took the position that the release of Parvez Elahi is likely to disturb the peace.
The police wrote a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Lahore to detain Parvez Elahi under 3 MPO.
In which it has been said that during the investigation of the cases, it was revealed that Pervez Elahi could become a threat to peace, so orders for his detention should be issued.
According to the sources, the Deputy Commissioner Lahore has not yet taken any decision to detain Parvez Elahi.
Yesterday, the Lahore High Court had ordered to prevent Parvez Elahi from being arrested in undisclosed cases.
The written judgment issued today said that the arrest without proper material and information is in violation of the orders of the Supreme Court.
