Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Siraj-ul-Haq accused the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government of 500 billion robbery.
In a statement issued from Lahore, Sirajul Haque reacted to the increase in electricity prices and said that 500 billion has been put on the pockets of the people by increasing the electricity tariff.
He said that the increase in electricity prices is no less than doomsday for the middle class and the poor, adding taxes, the price per unit will reach Rs 56.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami further said that he rejects the increase in electricity price and will raise his voice in every forum for the rights of the people.
He said that the government should bring the IMF agreement before the nation, instead of oppressing the poor people, the government should end its privileges.
Siraj-ul-Haq also said that the rulers absorb the debt themselves and the people are made the scapegoat for payment.
