A severed finger was found in a letter received by French President Emmanuel Macron, prosecutors have begun an investigation.
President Makron’s staff informed the relevant authorities in this regard at the beginning of this week and the police were called for investigation.
According to a foreign news agency report, this amputated finger belongs to the person who sent the letter, who is suffering from mental disorder.
The French president receives 1,000 to 1,500 letters and emails every day.
These letters and emails are monitored and vetted by a 70-person team in other offices away from the presidential palace.
Presidents often respond to letters with a handwritten letter.
