Due to heavy rains in India, the water level in Yamuna river is continuously increasing.
According to the Indian media from New Delhi, a water rail from the Yamuna river entered New Delhi. After which all educational institutions of the city have been closed till Sunday and people have been directed to work from home.
Indian media further says that there is severe traffic jam in different areas due to water on the roads. Roads around Red Fort in New Delhi were also submerged in water.
According to Indian media, the water treatment plants have been closed due to the flood situation and the water supply in the city has been affected. Rains in India have broken a 45-year-old water level record in the Yamuna river yesterday.
Meanwhile, the capital New Delhi was flooded, and boats plyed the streets, with thousands of people evacuated from low-lying areas to safer places.
According to the Indian media, the water level in the Yamuna river is continuously increasing, there is a severe traffic jam in different areas due to the water coming on the roads, the roads around the Red Fort of New Delhi are also submerged in water.
In the low lying areas of the city, the water has reached to the waist, the closure of the water treatment plant has severely affected the water supply across the city. According to the Meteorological Department, so far in the current monsoon, New Delhi has received 113% more rain than normal.
