The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released a report on Pakistan’s economic performance, according to which the economic growth rate is expected to be 2.5 percent in the year 2024-23.
According to the IMF report, Pakistan’s economic performance last fiscal year was negative 0.5 percent, the government had claimed that the GDP growth last year was positive 0.3 percent.
The IMF said in its report that unemployment will decrease from 8.5 percent to 8 percent in 2024, while average inflation is predicted to decrease from 29.6 percent to 25.9 percent this year.
According to the IMF, the fiscal deficit this year is expected to be slightly reduced to 7.5 percent.
According to the IMF report, the primary surplus is estimated to be 0.4 percent of GDP, while Pakistan’s public debt will decrease from 81.8 percent to 74.9 percent.
