Notorious terrorist Tariq Rafiq, the main suspect in the attack on the bus of Chinese engineers at Dasu Dam in Pakistan, was absconding since the incident and was the mastermind behind the suicide attack on the Chinese language center in Karachi on 26 April 2022.

Now there are reports that Tariq Rafiq was killed in Afghanistan’s Kunar province.

Tariq Rafiq has a defective eye due to which he is also known as Button Bad. He was also the leader of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, a terrorist group.

A senior commander of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan told the media that Tariq Rafiq has not been in contact with anyone since last day but cannot confirm the killing until seeing his body.

The Taliban government in Afghanistan has not denied or confirmed the death of Tariq Rafiq.

It should be remembered that 9 Chinese engineers, 2 FC personnel and 2 local people were killed in a suicide bomb blast in Dasu on 14 July 2021, while 27 Chinese and 5 local people were injured.

In November 2022, the court sentenced two criminals, Muhammad Hussain, to 13 death sentences and a fine of Rs 15 lakh and to Muhammad Ayaz alias Janbaz, to 13 death sentences and a fine of Rs 15 lakh, while Tariq Rafiq was absconding.
