Indonesian coast guards seized an Iranian oil-laden ship.
The oil tanker named ‘MT Armaan 114’ contained 272 thousand 569 metric tons of crude oil worth 304 million dollars.
Indonesia’s Maritime Security Agency says the oil tanker was transferring oil to another vessel without permission on Friday.
The ship was seized when it was spotted in the Natuna Sea, north of Indonesia, while it was transferring oil from an Iranian ship to the African ship MTS Tanos from Cameroon.
On Kornia, the head of the Maritime Security Agency, says that the Iranian ship was changing its automatic identification system to show its location in the Red Sea, but it was actually here.
He said that the Iranian ship also dumped crude oil into the sea in violation of Indonesia’s environmental laws.
The 28-member crew of the Iranian plane and three families of a security officer are also in the custody of Indonesian authorities.
