Rawalpindi: The inquiry committee on the affairs of Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, set up on the orders of the Chief Minister, recommended outsourcing of parking, cleaning and security staff and said that several split ACs should be used by doctors instead of patients and patients. According to Express News, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to Benazir Bhutto General Hospital on June 20, after which the inquiry committee on the instructions of the Chief Minister prepared a report.

The inquiry committee was set up under the chairmanship of Principal Medical College Prof. Jahangir Sarwar. The committee has revealed gross violation of rules in recruitment in parking contract, administrative affairs and cleaning departments and said that air-conditioner split units were being used by house officers instead of patients.

The report said that AMS, DMS posts were appointed against the rules, parking, cleaning and security staff should be outsourced, outsourced contracts should be given in a transparent manner, contract records should be kept safe. Centralized heating and cooling system should be installed in the hospital, the existing air conditioner system should also be maintained.

The inquiry committee said that the emergency construction and repair of the hospital should be completed soon, the emergency building should be handed over to the hospital administration soon, action should be taken against the parking contractor for overcharging, and expert and trained doctors should be employed.
