The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued non-bailable warrants for Chairman PTI and Fawad Chaudhry in the case of insulting the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner.
A 4-member bench of the Election Commission headed by Election Commission member Nisar Durrani held a hearing.
The Election Commission had summoned Chairman PTI and Fawad Chaudhry in a personal capacity, but today during the hearing, both of them did not appear before the Election Commission in a personal capacity.
Asad Umar’s lawyer Umaima Mansoor told the commission that I have been told that Shoaib Shaheen is coming, Anwar Mansoor has a medical check-up, he is on leave, an application has been made on his behalf, Asad Umar used to appear every time. There are, only the last time they did not appear.
Member Election Commission Justice (R) Ikramullah said that the respondent must appear, the man is sitting at home and the lawyer says to grant immunity.
Member Nisar Durrani said to compel Asad Umar to appear, now apply for exemption from Asad Umar’s attendance.
Asad Umar’s lawyer Umaima Mansoor said that Faisal Chaudhry is in the High Court, Fawad Chaudhry is in Lahore.
Member Election Commission said that non-bailable warrants are being issued, now the charge has to be framed.
