Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Leader of Opposition Amjad Hussain has resigned from the assembly membership. Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Nazir Ahmed confirmed the resignation of opposition leader Amjad Hussain.
He said that opposition leader Amjad Hussain came to the chamber this evening and submitted his resignation.
Amjad Hussain said in this regard that due to the current political situation in Gilgit-Baltistan, he resigned from the assembly membership.
He said that in the current political situation, differences were arising within the party.
Member of Assembly Ghulam Shahzad Agha also resigned
On the other hand, another member of the People’s Party, Ghulam Shahzad Agha, resigned from the assembly membership and said that he has left the assembly in support of Amjad Hussain’s reservations.
After the acceptance of both resignations in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, the number of PP members will be reduced to 2.
