Syed Muhammad Askari, senior reporter of daily Jang, returned home.

Syed Muhammad Askari was detained near Qayyumabad Interchange while returning from the function.

His wife had submitted an application regarding the recovery and disappearance of her husband at the Baloch Colony police station.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori and Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon took notice of the incident and contacted the law enforcement agencies.

Journalist organizations, political leaders, religious and social organizations also expressed strong reactions to the disappearance of Syed Muhammad Askari, calling it an attack on freedom of press.
