A high level flood warning has been issued for the Chenab River and adjacent tributaries from today till July 10, along with evacuation notices for people living along the river.
Areas of Sialkot, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad are expected to be affected due to possible flood in Chenab river.
A regional control room has been set up in the commissioner’s office to monitor the situation.
Commissioner Gujranwala says that flood relief camps have been set up in the areas adjacent to Chenab river.
It should be noted that most of the areas of Punjab, KP and Kashmir are in the grip of rain while some areas of Gilgit also continue to rain.
