Pakistan is likely to face water shortage by 2025, Sherry Rehman

Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman has said that our glaciers are melting very fast, Pakistan is likely to suffer from water shortage by 2025.

Swiss Foreign Minister met Sherry Rehman, Swiss Ambassador to Pakistan George Steiner was also present in the meeting.

On this occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed to deal with the effects of climate change.

The meeting also discussed the ravages of climate change and cooperation in recovery measures.

Sherry Rahman says that according to the UN Secretary General, July 7 was the hottest day in history, our glacier melting has increased by 300%.

He said that Lahore is witnessing heavy monsoon rains, 33 million people were affected by floods last year.

The federal minister says that many projects have been started to reduce the effects of climate change.
