The statement of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority came out on the issue of possible floods in the rivers of Punjab.

PDMA director Hameedullah Malik has said that India’s own dams are 40 to 50 percent full, and when India’s dams are full, it will release water to Pakistan.

Hameedullah Malik says that currently there is no flood in 4 rivers of Punjab. There is a risk of rising water level in some places of river Ravi and Chenab.

According to Director PDMA, rains are also likely to occur in Punjab including Lahore till Monday.

It should be noted that this week the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had issued a high alert for possible floods in Punjab.

The PDMA spokesperson had warned of very high levels of flooding in Jhelum, Sutlej, Ravi and Chenab rivers between July 8 and 10.
