The residents of the area protested against the water and electricity shutdown on the Maripur road in Karachi today, during which the traffic on the Maripur road was suspended.
A large number of residents of Lyari and Machhar Colony staged dharna on Maripur Road. Due to the sit-in, the heavy traffic leaving the Karachi port was also suspended.
Traffic on both tracks of Maripur Road was also stopped due to the sit-in and commotion. While traffic is being diverted from Wazir Mansion and ICI Bridge on alternate routes.
Due to the protest, Maripur Road was closed for traffic the previous day as well.
