The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Fawad Chaudhry in the contempt of election commission case.
The contempt of Election Commission case against Fawad Chaudhry was heard by a 5-member commission under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry’s assistant lawyer requested to adjourn the case.
The Islamabad police official told the commission that I had gone to Fawad Chaudhry’s residence to execute the warrant. He met his brother Faisal Chaudhry at Fawad Chaudhry’s residence. Yes, we have not been able to find them either.
Member Election Commission said that Fawad Chaudhry did not come himself, nor did he apply for exemption from attendance.
Fawad Chaudhry’s assistant lawyer requested that the Election Commission’s lawyer has to present arguments in the High Court today, postpone the case because the High Court will decide in a couple of days.
The Election Commission rejected the plea of Fawad Chaudhry’s assistant counsel and adjourned the hearing of the case till July 20.
