Karachi: In the red bus service running in Shahr-e-Quaid, the driver and conductor who tortured the passenger Dr. Atif have been suspended and an investigation has been started.
The administration issued its statement after the investigation on the matter of torture on a doctor in Karachi’s Red Line bus service and said that the victim, Dr. Atif, had previously made a false claim of torture.
According to the statement, Dr. Atif first raised his hands on the bus driver, after which the incident of violence took place. The footage of which is also available.
The statement said that the administration took notice of the incident and formed a committee to investigate the incident by suspending the driver and conductor.
On the other hand, Darakshan Police registered a case of violence against the driver and conductor of Dawood University professor in Red Bus Service, but none of the two suspects were arrested. The case has been registered in the complaint of Professor Dr. Atif Jameel and the investigation has started.
In the text of the FIR, it is written that Dr. Atif Jameel boarded a red bus from his home in Clifton to the university at nine o’clock on Tuesday morning near the Defense Phase-5 Glock Tower and gave the conductor 5 notes of Rs.10 for the fare. The conductor returned one of the notes and said to give another one, it is taped, but on the excuse of not having it open, the conductor said to give 10 rupees, otherwise he will take it off here.
The lawsuit states that there was a heated argument and the conductor along with the driver assaulted them. Dr. Atif Dawood is posted as Director in the Post Graduate Department of the University. It should be noted that the video of the fight has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the bus.
