Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited different areas of the city late at night.
Murtaza Wahab said that the restoration work of the ancient drain near Meriwether Tower on II Chandragarh Road has been started.
He said that the British-era canal was blocked during development works in the past.
Mayor Karachi said that now it will be connected to city drain and Hijrat Colony drain.
He said that the work on it would be completed within a month, the restoration of the drain would improve the flow of sewage water on II Chandragarh Road and Tower.
