Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said that the problems have been solved, the risk of default is now over.
Miftah Ismail reacted to the new agreement between Pakistan and the IMF while speaking on Geo News program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath’.
He said that the fears of uncertainty related to the economy are no more, this government has done its work, the next government will also have to work.
The former finance minister further said that the previous government had gone into the IMF program after a one-year delay, the new government should immediately go into the IMF program for 3 years.
He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invested his personal assets for a new agreement with the IMF. He had to meet and call MDIMF so many times. If they were made, the country was also saved.
Miftah Ismail also said that electricity and gas loadshedding also affects exports, PTI government took a year to go to IMF.
He said that IMF is saying to follow NEPRA and OGRA rules, privatization is happening all over the world but there is no 460 days long process.
