Quetta lawyer murder: Request to stop ATC action against Chairman PTI rejected

Islamabad: In the Quetta lawyer murder case, the Supreme Court rejected the plea to stay the proceedings of the Anti-Terrorism Court against Chairman PTI.

A hearing was held on the nomination of chairman PTI in the Quetta lawyer murder case. The court remarked that the two-member bench of the Supreme Court cannot suspend the decision of the two-member bench of the Balochistan High Court.

During the hearing, there was an interesting conversation between the lawyer of the petitioner Latif Khosa and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that you should apply to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for the formation of a larger bench, to which the petitioner’s lawyer Latif Khosa said that when we meet, the news is published in the newspapers.

Justice Ijazul Hassan remarked that when you go to file the application, you should take the lawyer of the Balochistan government with you, doing so will not raise the question of transparency.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that my client’s life is in danger. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that you should approach the concerned High Court for bail.

Lawyer Latif Khosa said that a campaign was launched on the media that my client killed the lawyer, on which Justice Ayesha Malik remarked that what was aired on TV should be left alone, you should read the FIR.

State Council Balochistan stated that we have not yet received the notice of this case, I have just come to know that the case has been fixed for hearing.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that it has been found from the news reports that a JIT has been formed to investigate the incident, on which Justice Ayesha Malik remarked that the notification for the formation of the JIT has not been issued. .

Latif Khosa said that my client has to appear in court in many cases today, to which Justice Ijazul Ahsan remarked that this is the only case that is being heard before us.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that the court should stop the proceedings of the Anti-Terrorism Court, to which Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that we are helpless and we cannot do anything.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan said in his remarks that you should apply to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for a larger bench, it is possible that the case will be fixed for hearing today.

The court issued notices to Advocate General Balochistan and Prosecutor General Balochistan and other parties.

Application for constitution of bench

Besides, Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf through Advocate Latif Khosa filed a petition to constitute a three-member bench.

In the petition, the position was adopted that a two-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan heard the lawyer murder case, but the two-member bench expressed helplessness over issuing an injunction in the case.

Petitioner’s position is that the two-member bench suggested that an application be made to the Chief Justice for a three-member bench, the matter is sensitive and requires urgent hearing, there is a fear of strict action and arrest against my client.

In the petition, it was requested that a three-member bench should be constituted immediately to hear the matter today.
