The world’s largest waste-to-energy plant has been inaugurated in Dubai, the plant was inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Sheikh Hamdan took to social media to inaugurate the world’s largest and most efficient waste-to-energy facility in Warsan.
Sheikh Hamdan said that the project has the capacity to generate 220 megawatts per hour of renewable energy, which can provide electricity to 135,000 residential units.
The plant is said to be able to process two million tonnes of waste annually without any negative environmental impact, with Dubai Municipality investing AED 4 billion in the project.
