Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Coordinator for Economy and Energy Bilal Azhar Kayani replied to Hammad Azhar.
In response to Hamad Azhar’s statement, Bilal Azhar Kayani said that after 1952, the rate of economic growth in Pakistan was negative only in 2019-20, i.e. during the Tehreek-e-Insaaf era.
He further said that the PML-N government had left the growth rate at 6.1 percent in 2017-18.
The Prime Minister’s Coordinator also said that by 2020, PTI had reduced the growth rate to negative 0.94 percent.
He said the PTI government left behind the biggest fiscal and trade deficit in Pakistan’s history and pushed the country into default by reneging on its commitments and agreements with the IMF.
Bilal Azhar Kayani said that in 4 years of PTI government, more than 2 crore people went below the poverty line and more than 60 lakh became unemployed.
He said that the current government has extinguished the fire started by the PTI government and brought the country back to economic stability.
