Attractive People Wear Masks Less, Research

A new study suggests that attractive people are less likely to wear masks in the post-Covid era.

Researchers at Seoul National University in South Korea had people fill out three questionnaires asking about their attractiveness and why they wear masks on different occasions.

The study found that young and middle-aged Americans who considered themselves attractive were more likely to believe that wearing a mask hindered their positive self-image.

On the other hand, people who do not consider themselves attractive believe that covering their face improves their appearance.

The research comes after the results of a major face mask trial (which showed that wearing a mask made a negligible difference to the rate of covid infection or death).

Although US President Joe Biden declared the end of the Covid epidemic last year, four out of 10 Americans still wear masks.

The researchers conducted three studies on American individuals selected for the study. The average age of these people was 33 years and approximately 44 percent of the study participants were men.

The most important information from the research came from the third study. In this study, 442 people participated, half of whom were asked if they went out for a walk and the other half were asked if they went to a job interview. Wearing it will make their personality more attractive.

Individuals who perceived themselves as attractive answered yes less often, while those who answered yes felt more attractive with the mask on.
