Proposal of Deputy Chairman Senate to form 9 new provinces including Karachi

Islamabad: Mirza Muhammad Afridi, the deputy chairman of the Senate, has emphasized the proposal to create 9 more new provinces and said that Karachi should also be a province.

During an interview on a private channel program, he advocated the division of Punjab and Balochistan into three provinces, along with making the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Hazara district their own provinces.

Deputy Chairman Senate urged to make Karachi a completely separate province. He added that “FATA should be made a separate province and Hazara should also be made a province.”

Mirza Muhammad Afridi further said that the more provinces Pakistan has, the better it will be. In response to a question regarding the objections of PPP, he said that the 18th amendment was made and the National Finance Commission (NFC) award was made, similarly when new provinces were formed, the NFC award was also distributed in the same way. will go

He explained that if the said provinces are formed, they will continue to receive their share of the financial budget under the NFC Award.
