Islamabad: Mirza Muhammad Afridi, the deputy chairman of the Senate, has emphasized the proposal to create 9 more new provinces and said that Karachi should also be a province.
During an interview on a private channel program, he advocated the division of Punjab and Balochistan into three provinces, along with making the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Hazara district their own provinces.
Deputy Chairman Senate urged to make Karachi a completely separate province. He added that “FATA should be made a separate province and Hazara should also be made a province.”
Mirza Muhammad Afridi further said that the more provinces Pakistan has, the better it will be. He explained that if the said provinces are formed, they will continue to receive their share of the financial budget under the NFC Award.
