Set a world record for hosting a radio show for more than 55 hours

Canberra: An Australia-based radio host has made it to the Guinness World Record by hosting a radio show for 55 hours and 26 minutes.

According to global media reports, Mario Backes, originally from Croatia, hosted his own marathon talk show on Alive 90.5 FM where he has been hosting since 2009.

No music, commercials or calls from the public were allowed during the 55-hour-long redo show. Giving Guinness World Records the reason for this, Hicks said that the show was a very unusual radio show that deviated from the usual ‘conventions’.

The long broadcast included interviews with several guests and advice offered to the audience. A doctor was present to monitor Bex’s health during the attempt.

Becks holds the record for the longest audio live stream after a continuous 55 hours and 26 minutes of the show, a record previously held in 2020 by British radio hosts Matt Hall and Dan Ramsden at 53 hours and 1 minute.
